  • Music Theory

The music theory minor does not require an audition, but a background in music is recommended. A theory placement exam is required to determine the appropriate level of theory.

    About this Minor

A minimum of nine credits at the 3000 level or above must count toward the minor and at least 12 credits of coursework must be completed at UF. Students interested in composition can also take MUC 1211 and MUC 1212, Composition Skills 1 and 2, to add a composition component to the minor.
