Disability Science Minor
Hours: 17 credits, completed with minimum grades of C
The disability science minor provides a basic scientific foundation to understand the impact of disability on physical and psychosocial health.
This minor is available to all juniors and seniors in communication sciences and disorders in PHHP and other colleges who meet the prerequisites. The minor is not available to Bachelor of Health Science students in health science, pre-OT or pre-public health specializations.
All credits toward the minor must be completed at the 3000/4000-level. As long as the program director approves the hours, the student can use up to three credits of relevant 3000-level or higher transfer coursework or electives outside the health science program to fulfill elective credits. Lower-division transfer credit is not accepted.
Prerequisites for the minor include junior standing (60+ credits), an overall 2.75 GPA and a 2.75 prerequisite GPA based on general college biology, general psychology, abnormal/developmental/physiological psychology, physiology and statistics (STA 2023).
