Provides the linguistic skills and cultural knowledge necessary for working in our increasingly global community, focusing specifically on the Spanish-speaking world. Coursework builds cultural background and communicative proficiency, while providing profession-specific language and experience.
To be eligible to complete the certificate, students must have a minimum grade of C in SPN 3300 or SPN 3350, or equivalent background. Nine of the twelve credits must be earned in a UF program.

- SPN 3414 Advanced Spanish Conversation 2, 3 credits
- SPN 3510 Culture and Civilization of Spain or
SPN 3520 Culture and Civilization of Spanish America, 3 credits
- SPN 3948 Spanish Service Learning, 3 credits
One 3-credit professional Spanish course, such as
- SPN 3036 Spanish for Health Professions
SPN 3440 Commercial Spanish or SPN 3442 Marketing and Advertising in the Spanish-Speaking World or SPN 3451 Spanish Translation and Interpretation: Theory and Practice or SPN 3831 Spanish for the Legal Professions or SPN 3930 Spanish for Educators
Students must also achieve a minimum score of 50 on the Versant Spanish Test (at student's cost).
