    Overview

Music education programs are available in choral, choral and keyboard, and instrumental. More than one-half of the students in the School of Music are preparing for careers as music teachers in elementary or secondary schools. In addition, undergraduates interested primarily in performance careers often take advantage of the teacher-preparation curriculum, which fulfills the educational requirements for Florida teaching certification in grades K-12, and in most other states. Programs are accredited by NASM and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

To graduate with this major, students must complete all university, college and major requirements.
