Dance, Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in dance is designed to educate the student as a generalist in dance studies. In addition to a course of study essential to the field of dance the BA provides the student with the flexibility to pursue other areas of study.
Admission Overview
Admission to the BA dance program is selective. There are two ways students can enter the program. The first option is to participate in auditions, which are held twice a year in October and January. Students are evaluated in the audition to see if they meet the standards for the BFA or BA program. Students may also complete the first year of critical-tracking courses for the BA program without an audition. They must then get faculty approval to continue in the program.
Satisfactory Progress
Students must receive minimum grades of C in all courses for the major and participate in academic and artistic jury reviews. Majors are expected to participate in the production/performance program through such courses as Production and Performance, World Dance, and Intercultural Performance and Ensembles.

To graduate with this major, students must complete all university, college and major requirements.
Equivalent critical-tracking courses as determined by the State of Florida Common Course Prerequisites may be used for transfer students.
