  • Physics Minor

    Hours: 17 credits, all completed with grades of C or better

    The minor in physics consists of the complete sequence in general physics, modern physics, and two 3000/4000-level courses in the physics major course sequence.

    All grades must be C or better and all of the 3000 level or above courses must be taken from the UF Physics department. Students interested in pursuing a minor in physics are urged to consult one of the physics advisers and obtain the required approval of a minor program of study no later than the beginning of the junior year.

    The following courses cannot count toward this minor: PHY 3400, PHY 3840L and PHY 4905 (Individual Work).

    Students pursuing an astronomy major are not eligible to receive the minor in physics.

    PHY 2048 Physics with Calculus 1, 3 credits, and
    PHY 2048L Laboratory, 1 credit, and
    PHY 2049 Physics with Calculus 2, 3 credits, and
    PHY 2049L Laboratory, 1 credit
    OR

    PHY 2048L Laboratory, 1 credit, and
    PHY 2049L Laboratory, 1 credit, and
    PHY 2060 Enriched Physics with Calculus 1, 3 credits, and
    PHY 2061 Enriched Physics with Calculus 2, 3 credits
